Overrated Federal Day Competition Event.

Time Consuming Parade. Let's be fair. You don't call the audience to wait for one and half hour and nothing happened. On January 28, in case you don't know due to the poor advertising. There was an event held on Dataran Merdeka to celebrate Federal Territorial Day.

Why do I sound so pissed anyway? Well, the competition was scheduled to start at 12.00 p.m sharp. It was almost 1.45 p.m that time and the Break Dancing competition, Most Impressive Scooter competition, Bag Pipe Battle, and Extreme Sports have not even started.

Okay. Let's get this straight.

All the competitions were scheduled to start at 12.00 p.m sharp. However, there are so many factors delaying the event, which is ridiculous. Here are the list of factors according to my own experience.

1. No advertisement regarding competition.


There are no posters. There are no media coverage about this except for BERNAMA which is not even solely focus on the event. **Click here for obvious discoveries.*

BERNAMA didn't even state anything about the competition. After the opening parade, all of the participants went home without even knowing that there is a competition going on.


 2. Pathetic state of the competition organizers.


Honestly speaking, all the hype and crowd surrounded the Breakdance competition area. However, they started around near 2 p.m. As for the others, there are no news about the competition at all.

I walked around and asked one of the event organizers for the scooters. He replied, "Takdelah, motor-motor ini cuma untuk display saje."

I walked around and heard the sound of bag pipes. Chanting and playing "Scotland The Brave" with their bag pipes. However, it is just a practice session and it's already 1.30 p.m and they are still practicing for it? The event should have started hours ago.

I asked one of the Breakdance contestants, "What time is it again for the start of the event?"

He replied, "I have no idea."

After a walk to look at the Extreme Sports near to the Breakdance area, no competition was as scheduled there but a lot of secondary and elementary schoolers flying around on their bikes performing inspiring stunts.

In short, all three competitions have no discipline or they perhaps there are not enough participants to begin with.

After patiently waiting, the Breakdance competition finally starts at 2.00 p.m. However, it started to rain not long after that. Stopping all on going activities on the spot. What an awesome day.
