The Quadrantids Meteor Shower in 2012

This is a real photo captured during the Quadrantids Meteor Shower Season
(5th January 2012)
Not a popular topic yet its eye-catching - Meteor shower.

News Chaser had the opportunity to cover this news as the meteor season happens to appear recently.

Quadrantids Meteor shower is the very first season meteor shower for every year. This phenomenon is actually caused by the Earth passing through the dust particles of a minor planet - 2003 EH1.

Kledang Hill of Ipoh is the location of mine to stay away from city lights in order to enjoy the view of shooting stars when they cross the sky. I've missed the peak time (4th of January) because of the heavy rain. However, I decided to try my luck on the following day (5th of January). Unfortunately, the meteors are not as rapid as expected. I only managed to watch four of them between 11pm to 3am. It is believed, that the waxing of the moon of approximately 72% full had overrode the light of the meteors and thus reduced the amount of visible meteors.

There are numbers of other famous meteor shower season for meteor lovers to enjoy throughout the year. So, get your gadgets on and move to somewhere where light pollution and damage can be reduced as much as its possible to have a spectacular view!
